Hammasa kohistani

 Hammasa Kohistani is a Model, Mental Health Advocate and Former Miss England who has been actively speaking up and raising the voice of Afghanistan and Afghan women in the media for over a decade. She is a spokesperson for some of the worlds leading fashion and beauty brands, an advocate for refugee women working closely with charitable organisations to help accommodate the recent influx of refugees in light of recent situation in Afghanistan.

Hammasa, moved to the UK with her family in 1997 after the civil war broke out in her native country, Afghanistan. She grew up between several countries, before settling in the U.K. and starting her new life an Afghan refugee. 

She  was scouted by a modelling agent at 14 and has successfully worked in the Fashion industry for two decades. Shortly after starting her modelling career she entered a beauty pageant and became the first Ethnic/Muslim to be crowned Miss England at the age of 18. She went on to representing England in Miss World. Her ground-breaking success, positive message and down to earth personality made her the perfect candidate to give a voice to the voiceless of Afghanistan. She used her platform to raise awareness and bring attention to Humanitarian causes working closely with UN and the then UK Government. 

Hammasa continues to work as a model, an activist for Afghan women and an advocate for Mental Health using her influence and large social media platforms to bring light to difficult and stigmatised topics.
